My career profile
Having founded and then managed an international executive search company for over twenty years, I have worked with a wide range of senior executives during periods of career transition. I am a very experienced career coach. I also specialise in working with entrepreneurs and founders who are managing business growth and who want to develop their leadership style. Equally, I enjoy working with executives in larger corporate environments who are new to leadership and who want to develop their own personal style which feels authentic to them. Recently I have worked in this way with clients in Google and The Reading Agency.
I like to create calm space for my clients where they can allow themselves time to explore and reflect on work related issues. Sometimes I find mindfulness techniques can be very helpful to clients when their work is becoming overwhelming and they need to still their minds and work in the moment. I use a variety of different methods to encourage open discussion and thought-provoking observations.
Typically, I work with clients for six sessions over a period of three to six months depending on the areas that they want to work on. I like to get to know the whole person in order to help them identify what drives them in both a positive and negative way. It’s often the unconscious drivers that are the most revealing in helping us to understand our behaviour in the workplace. Most sessions are held face-to-face. After the first few sessions we may work online if that is more helpful and appropriate to their schedule.
Professional qualifications and continuous professional development are important to me. I have a Masters Degree in the Management of Human Resources and I have been awarded the Tavistock Institute Certificate in Coaching for Leadership and Professional Development. I am a member of the Association for Coaching, which is committed to promoting best practice in coaching worldwide.
