How are you? No, really how are you?
As the world starts to show signs of coming through Covid, it is time to reflect on what we have survived, achieved, learnt and what we want for the future.
Many coaching clients have shared how they have been so busy keeping their organisation alive and supporting others, that they are now feeling understandably fatigued and a bit flat.
For many working from home has had benefits and for others prolonged periods of challenging isolation.
Teams and Zoom meetings have worked well in survival mode but are transactional so all the humane connections we would generally experience in the margins have been lost. This is tough for everyone and especially for those starting in new positions during lockdown not being able to meet and get to know their new teams, clients and customers.
For many senior leaders they have shown great loyalty and stayed on in roles longer than they planned to support their organisations through lockdown. They are now starting to become restless, as they consider their own future and their new normal.
My sense is that we will witness from mid -September a churn in the market and new roles and new opportunities await those who are clear about what they want to do and the type of organisations and people they want to work with.
If this sounds close to where you are right now, perhaps it’s time to invest in thinking through and working on your future and your new normal. A career MOT or some coaching sessions will give you the space to have some support as you reflect and reboot.
All the best
